9 Best Shoes for Warehouse Pickers

As a warehouse picker, your shoes are one of the most important determinants of your success. The right shoes could make a difference in how much incentive you’re going to make.

In this article I’m going to list the shoes that in my opinion as a warehouse order picker, are some of the best for making your picking process as painless and fast as possible.

Some of these are shoes that I’ve worn over the years while others have been worn by my coworkers who consider them to be some of the best out there for warehouse workers.

Reebok Sublite Cushion Work for Men (My Pick)

I wore these shoes for a year before the sole wore off. They are some of the best shoes for pickers due to how light they are. The only issue I have with them is that the sole tends to wear off quite fast especially if you have an underpronating or overpronating gait.

These Reeboks look good and are ultralight and comfortable. In fact you can wear them as regular shoes because they are that light. This makes them perfect for long shifts and maintaining a high performance rate while picking.

Tiger Men’s Safety Shoes

I had to include this shoe because it’s the one I use for work daily. I can attest that it is very comfortable and very light on my feet. I also like that it is very understated while doing the job of protecting my feet perfectly.

It’s inner lining is made up of a very thick but also very malleable material – almost like memory foam.

KEEN Utility Men’s Atlanta 2 Cool

Do you work in a warm part of the warehouse (such as the grocery section)? If so, these shoes – or rather, sandals – are perfect for such an environment. They are obviously very breathable judging by the fact that they are sandals.

Please note that even though they are made from water resistant leather, the parts of the feet that are exposed will steel get wet if you splash water/fluids on them.

If you work in a warehouse freezer, your main priorities when it comes to shoes is that they are comfortable, warm, waterproof and lightweight.

Criteria for the List

There are a few factors that I’ve put into consideration when listing these shoes:

Weight – they need to be as light as possible because as a picker, you’ll be constantly on your feet for hours at a time.

Non-slip – wet floors in the warehouse are inevitable. Whether it’s spilt product, wetness from cleaning or ice in on the concrete in the warehouse freezer, you’ll need your shoes to be slip resistant to avoid any accidents.

Comfort – you’ll be running around picking products all day so you might as well make sure your shoes are as comfortable as possible to avoid any soreness after work.

Durability – these shoes need to withstand the constant beat down they’ll be subjected to while you use them for as long as possible.

Cost – shoes listed here need to be affordable.
